Psychological well-being (positive life style) of nurses may be affected by their levels of uncivil behaviours and emotional exhaustion, which could have implications for the quality of services they render to patients. Against this background, this study, examined the extent to which workplace incivility and occupational burnout predict psychological wellbeing of nurses in Lagos State. This study adopted a cross-sectional survey design. A total number of 233 nurses (55 males: 178 females) from two public hospitals in Lagos State were selected using a combination of purposive and accidental sampling techniques. The participants’ age ranged from 19 to 60 years. (Mean=30.07, SD=10.69). Results of the multiple regression analysis showed that the more impolite nurses were, the lower their level of psychological well-being. Similarly, nurses who reported high level of occupational burnout also reported low level of psychological well-being. The implications of the findings for improving the psychological state of nurses were discussed.
